Definition
- An award that supports the training (usually by payment of a stipend) of an individual who has been or will be appointed through the Graduate Division as a Postdoctoral Scholar or who has an appointment through a Graduate Medical Education (GME) program as a clinical fellow and who will retain that appointment for the duration of the award.
- Especially with Private sponsors, the term ‘fellowship’ can be significantly less restrictive then under federal terms.
