A-5.2) Faculty and Staff Temporary Assignment Agreement (IPA / IGA- non VAMC)

An IPA agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) whereby a UCSF faculty member works at CDC for a limited period of time.

A contract with the American Heart Association (AHA) where a faculty member works at the AHA for a six-month period.

The Federal F&A rate agreement has specific rates for IPA agreements.

For agreements with non-federal agencies, the federal F&A rate applies unless an exception has been approved by UCOP.

UCSF Office for policy interpretation:

• If the primary sponsor is a government or non-profit agency, Office of Sponsored Research, Contracts & Grants (OSR, C&G) .
• If the primary sponsor is a for-profit entity, Office of Sponsored Research, Industry Contracts Division (OSR, ICD) .

If the sponsor is a government or non-profit entity, review and approval is by the Office of Sponsored Research, Contracts & Grants (OSR, C&G) .

Note: Temporary assignment agreements require approval of multiple offices, including Chair, Dean, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs (for academic assignments), and OSR. Contact OSR for full procedures.
