Miscellaneous Student Fee Advisory Committee (MSFAC)


Welcome to the UCSF Miscellaneous Student Fee Advisory Committee website. The committee is appointed by the Chancellor to review budgets, and fee increases and to make recommendations to the Chancellor for approval of new fees or increases to existing miscellaneous fees.

The committee members are composed of representatives from the following UCSF divisions and student groups:

  • Professional Schools (rotating chair)
  • Budget & Resource Management (co-chair)
  • Office of the Registrar
  • Student Academic Affairs
  • Graduate and Professional Students' Association (GPSA)

The charge of the committee is to review requests to establish and set fee levels for student miscellaneous user fees, administrative service charges and penalties, course materials fees, certain deposits, and program fees for SR-735 Graduate Academic Certificate programs; excludes Student Health and Counseling Services charges. Annual increases to these fees and charges are expected to be moderate and gradual.

  • Course Materials & Services fees
  • Student Health & Counseling Services fee waivers and missed appointment fees
  • Library materials loss/damage fees
