CBR Lookup

In UCPath, the CBR Group determines the benefit rate assessment.

How are employees placed in groups?

In UCPath, the following employee's appointment information is used to assign a CBR group:

2. Eligibility Config 1

For the employee's primary job.  This code is used to categorize the benefit eligibility for Health & Welfare.  An Eligibility Config 1 = F (Full) or FO (Full Override) indicates the employee is eligible for Full Benefits; all others are not. To determine if an employee is eligible for full benefits, see the table below.

How is full benefit eligibility determined?

UC will determine your ongoing eligibility based on your average hours of service over a specific 12-month standard measurement period (SMP).  UC’s SMP for monthly paid employees is November 1 through October 31.  For biweekly paid employees, the SMP includes the pay periods that cover that same time frame. Further requirements can be found at UCSF Human Resources website.

How do I find the CBR for an employee?

Use MyReports HR Data Reports

Employees with access to MyReports HR Data reports can confirm employee distributions for business unit, and appointment information including CBR Group, CBR, Employee Class, Eligibility Config 1, and Jobcode.  Reports can be run at department or employee level.  To project rates for employees not yet hired, you can lookup similar current employees' CBR.  If you do not have access to MyReports, contact your Manager/Supervisor or departmental Access Administrator.

Use CBR Lookup

If you do not have access to MyReports, you can also use the projection tool below to find a CBR group and rate.

Which rates are employees assessed?

If the employee is funded by a campus business unit, the Campus CBR Group rates will be assessed to the campus funding chart strings.  If the employee is funded by a medical center business unit, the UCSF Health CBR Group rates will be assessed to the UCSF Health funding chart strings.
