Financial Planning and Analysis

UPlan is the UCSF branding of Oracle Hyperion Planning, a centralized, Excel and Web-based financial planning and forecasting solution.

Access & Roles

Log in via MyAccess or Smart View using your UCSF Network Login ID and Password.

Contact your departmental Access Administrator for access. Access Administrators should use the Access Management application to request, change, or deactivate roles:

Coordinator: Sets and adjusts global assumptions in the General and Employee Planning modules for their control points and departments.
Planner: Write access to assigned planning departments and read access to all General and Employee Planning modules. Adjusts plans for DeptID/Fund/Project combinations at the Account level.
Reviewer: Read-only access.

Known Issues

Revenue and Expense Form Error Message

Due to an Oracle bug, some planners encountered an error message when opening the UPlan Web and Smart View Revenue and Expense forms. A one-time workaround is to navigate to the Revenue and Expense form via the Completion Tracking report.

UPlan Web:

Under Reports, select the "Completion Tracking" report
Right-click on any project on the report and select "Go to RevExp Lvl C/E"

Smart View:

In the UPlan application, expand the Task Lists folder and select General Planning
Expand the Reports Menu and double-click on the "Completion Tracking" report
Right-click on any project on the form and select the Smart View menu > "Go to RevExp Lvl C/E"

Navigation to the Employee Composite form or to the Compensation by DFP report

When planners navigate to the individual employee composite form from another form, they may not be brought directly to the chosen employee. Likewise, when planners navigate to the Compensation by DFP report from the Revenue and Expense form, they may not be directly to the chosen DFP. There is an Oracle bug associated with the proposed resolution so this issue will not be resolved until Oracle releases the fix in the next patch.
